Skater Kim Yu-na Attends Winter Youth Olympic Opening

South Korea's star figure skater Kim Yu-na has attended the opening ceremony of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games as an ambassador of the international sporting event.
 
At the opening ceremony held in Lillehammer, Norway on Friday, Kim handed over the Olympic flag to the participating Norwegian athletes along with five other Winter Olympic champions.
 
Kim, who won an Olympic gold and a silver before retiring from competitive skating in 2014, was named as ambassador for the 2016 Winter Youth Games in August last year.
 
The second Winter Youth Olympics will run for ten days until February 21 in the Norwegian city. Team Korea comprises 52 young athletes who will compete in events including skating, skiing and curling.
