S. Korean Rhythmic Gymnast Star Captures Season’s First Gold

South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae captured her first gold medal of the season.

Son won the gold at the World Cup in Espoo, Finland, after earning 18-point-450 points in the final round of the ball competition.

The World Cup gold is the first for Son since the Lisbon games in April 2014.

Son earned 18-point-400 points in ribbon, earning herself a silver. She also earned 18-point-400 points in hoop to earn a bronze medal.

A blunder pulled Son to seventh in clubs.

She secured a total of four medals including her gold at the Espoo competition.
