The organizing committee for the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup launched on Monday.
 
At the ceremony in Seoul, chief of the committee Chung Mong-gyu vowed efforts to ensure a successful event, just as the nation did in 2002 when it hosted the World Cup.
 
The U-20 World Cup will be held in six South Korean cities including Jeonju, Suwon and Cheonan in May next year. 
 
The event is the premier competition for players under the age of 20 and is organized by the world football governing body FIFA.
