The Education Ministry and KBS will launch a joint project to promote physical education(PE) and sports club activities in schools.
 
Education Minister Lee Joon-sik and KBS President Ko Dae-young signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday on the joint project.
 
The project is aimed at promoting youth development of both strong mind and body.
 
Under the accord, KBS will support the production of programs that contribute to promoting PE classes and sports club activities in schools, expanding PE activities for female students and tackling social issues such as school violence.
 
KBS has been producing and broadcasting programs to promote physical education in schools for more than ten years and helped increase student participation in school sports clubs to some 500-thousand.
