South Korea is inviting foreign elementary, middle and high school students of Korean descent to a camp that will provide classes about the country's easternmost Dokdo islets.
The Dokdo School under the Independence Hall of Korea(IHK) says it will receive applications for participation in the second annual education camp of its kind named “Do you know Korea and Dokdo?”
The two-day camp will be held in two sessions—one from June 18th to the 19th and another from June 25th to the 26th—in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, at a resort near IHK facilities.
The first day of the camp will provide tours through the IHK and outdoor exhibitions. The second day of the camp will offer classes to explain why Dokdo belongs to Korea and the natural habitat surrounding the rocky outcroppings.
Interested students can apply online at www.i815.or.kr. Up to 40 students will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
