The government has devised extensive policies to promote the country's sports industries.
 
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism unveiled the policies in Daegu on Thursday.
 
The ministry said it will actively foster converging and composite industries that develop high value-added sports products. The ministry added that it will promote professional sports industries with the help of sports agents and joint marketing strategies. 

By pursuing such efforts, the ministry is ultimately seeking to expand the size of the nation’s sports industry market from 41 trillion won estimated in 2014, to 53 trillion won by 2018.
 
The ministry will also seek to raise the participation rate in sports up to 62 percent through various efforts, including promoting sports classes in schools and supporting sports activities for children, the elderly and the disabled.
