First Korean Culture Center Opens in Middle East

The first Korean Cultural Center in the Middle East has opened in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Spanning the first and second floors of the "twofour54" building in downtown Abu Dhabi, the center is over 15-hundred square meters large and also houses a library.

Timed with the center's opening Thursday, the Korea Creative Content Agency also signed an agreement on contents industry cooperation during a video conference with Abu Dhabi Media, the media arm of the Abu Dhabi government.

The UAE Korean Cultural Center said the popularity of Korean pop culture is growing immensely in the Middle East and the center will serve as a hub to further spread the Korean Wave or hallyu boom in the region.
