French Chefs to Celebrate 130th Anniversary of S. Korea-France Relations

Renowned French chefs will take part in the 130th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and France.

So French Délices, a French civic organization promoting French cuisine overseas, said Tuesday that a large-scale culinary event will be held from March 23rd to the 26th with star chefs presenting special dishes at restaurants in Seoul.

Following an opening ceremony held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on March 23rd, Guillaume Gomez, head chef at France's Élysée Palace, will hold a gastronomic show with Shilla Hotel chefs.

Gomez was given the honor “Best Craftsman of France” by the French government when he was 25 years old. He joined the kitchen at the official residence of the French President in 1997 and has served as the head chef since 2013.
