Korean Film Screening Project in Developing Nations to Continue

A project to spread Korean culture in developing nations abroad through film screenings is expected to continue this year.

The Korea International Trade Association, the multiplex chain MegaBox and the Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU) on the project Thursday.

The project allows the three organizations to operate traveling movie theaters in developing countries lacking theaters and provide Korean cinema contents to local residents.

South Korean movies were screened in eight countries last year including Senegal, Nepal, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Jordan and Nicaragua. The films were viewed by over 12-thousand locals.
