S. Korean Men's Football Team Defeats Lebanon 1-0

The South Korean men’s football team has defeated Lebanon in the second round of the Asian qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The South Korean squad, led by head coach Uli Stielike, defeated the Lebanese team 1-0, after South Korean striker Lee Jeong-hyeop scored just before the game’s end on Thursday at the Wa Stadium in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province. The win marked the country's seventh consecutive victory without conceding a goal.

South Korea, which is 57th in FIFA rankings, will play a friendly against Thailand on Sunday.

A victory against Thailand would make it South Korea's eighth win without allowing a goal, the longest such streak for the men’s national football team.
