The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation has announced the basic guidelines for this year’s college entrance exam.
 
Under the guidelines unveiled Tuesday, Korean history will be included as a mandatory subject in the College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) beginning this year.
 
Test takers who skip the Korean history test will see their total scores invalidated.

Since 2005, Korean history had been one of eleven elective social study subjects in the exam. 
 
This year’s CSAT will be held on November 17th and test takers will receive their test results by December seventh.
