South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae has won two silver medals at the International Federation of Gymnastics(FIG) World Cup in Pesaro, Italy.
The 22-year-old bagged the medals in the clubs and ribbon events, after earning 18-point-550 points respectively, in each of the two events, on Sunday.
Russian Margarita Mamun won the gold in clubs after scoring 19-point-100 points.
Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine won the gold in ribbon, earning 18-point-600 points. Russia’s rising star Dina Averina tied with Son to also win a silver in the event.
Son earned a career-high 73-point-900 in all-around scores over the two days event but ranked fourth in the final tallies. However, with her two silvers, Son has managed to secure at least one medal in all three World Cup competitions so far this year.
Son ranked sixth in hoop and fourth in the ball program at the Pesaro games.
The rhythmic gymnast will return home on Tuesday to prepare for the national team qualification for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
