'Descendants of the Sun' Garners 2 Billion Hits in China

KBS' hit television series “Descendants of the Sun” has accumulated two billion views on China’s video streaming Web site iQiyi.

According to the drama's public relations agency Bliss Media on Wednesday, every episode of “Descendants of the Sun” is garnering around 100 million hits.

The agency added that it is very rare for a series to receive a combined two billion views in China, which has a population of one-point-three billion.

The drama portrays a love story between an Army captain and a doctor in the fictional war-torn country of Uruk. The series starring Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo has so far concluded contracts to be aired in 32 countries.
