The Education Ministry is mulling ways to adopt artificial intelligence(AI) and advanced information technologies into its policies.

Education Minister Lee Joon-sik on Friday said the ministry would create a task force comprising public officials and civilian experts to gather opinions on how to apply knowledge and information technologies into its policies in the medium to long term.

The minister's comments came in a congratulatory speech at a policy forum convened by the Korea Education Research Association.

The minister added that students can attain knowledge and information without going to school due to the rise of artificial intelligence. Lee also said that the failure to adapt to change will lead to a lack of human talents in the future.
