U.S. Fighter Jet Crashes at Osan Air Base

An F-16 fighter jet belonging to the U.S. Forces stationed in South Korea crashed while taking off from the Osan Air Base. The accident took place in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, about 55 kilometers south of Seoul. A spokesman for the U.S. Forces said the pilot made an emergency escape and was immediately rushed to a hospital inside the base. No civilian casualties have been reported.
