Top-Class Seats for Pyeongchang Winter Olympics Cost 1.5 Million Won

The organizing committee of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games revealed ticket prices on Monday.

During a news conference in Seoul, the committee said there are four pricing options for the opening ceremony. The A-level seats will cost one-and-a-half million won, or roughly one-thousand-300 U.S. dollars, while B-level seats cost 800-thousand won. Seats in the C-level will be 600-thousand won and "D" seats 220-thousand won.

The prices are similar to those of the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

Ticket prices for popular sports events, including short track, figure skating and speed skating, will start from 150-thousand won. Tickets for some sliding events, including bobsleigh and skeleton, will be sold from 20-thousand won.

The organizing committee plans to issue some one-point-17 million tickets for opening and closing ceremonies as well as sports events. Out of that total, 70 percent will be sold at home and around 30 percent abroad.
