Viewers in China gathered together to watch the final episode of the hit South Korean television series "Descendants of the Sun" which aired Thursday in both countries.
Group viewing events hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization took place in six Chinese cities Thursday night including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Xi'an and Guangzhou.
A thousand Chinese women selected through mobile social media took part in the events held at KTO branch offices in each city.
The Korea Tourism Organization gave a presentation on the drama's filming sites, Korean cultural contents and Korean travel programs before screening the final episode of the "Descendants of the Sun."
Photo zones were also prepared for the screening allowing participants to take a photo dressed in the Korean traditional attire "hanbok" or the uniform worn by the lead character, who was an Army captain.
Korean snacks and drinks that appeared in the TV show were also provided.
At another site in Beijing, actor Jin Goo who played a master sergeant in the series watched the last episode with his Chinese fans.
The KTO has further plans to introduce travel products to capitalize off the success of the "Descendants of the Sun."
