Renowned South Korean violinist Chung Kyung-wha has recorded an album for the first time in 15 years.

The violinist recorded the album at Saint George’s Bristol concert hall in London once in February and once in March of this year. The album, including Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, will be released around September.

Never has Chung performed Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin in her 46 years as a violinist. The works are considered to be one of the toughest music pieces in the world that require high levels of technique, depth and concentration.

The last time Chung recorded an album was in 2001, when she performed Beethoven's 5th Symphony coupled with the Brahms' Violin Concerto. The album was made with English conductor Simon Rattle and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
