KBS will seek to create another mega-hit drama following the final broadcast of the "Descendants of the Sun" last week.
 
KBS' drama department announced Friday that it will push for another "Descendants of the Sun" in a bid to live up to viewer expectations, adding the goal is to air the production in 2017.
 
The drama team said that talks are under way with author Kim Eun-sook of the hit drama and key cast members and producers.
 
Responding to previous remarks made by the scriptwriters declaring there would be no season 2 of the series, Jeong said it would not necessarily be a "season 2" but that various options are on the table including creating another edition or an entirely new series.
