“Descendants of the Sun” to Air in Japan in June

Riding on the huge sensation it created both in South Korea and China, the mega-hit KBS drama “Descendants of the Sun” will start airing in Japan in late June.

According to the drama's production company NEW on Monday, the first and second episodes of the show will be aired back-to-back from 11 p.m. on June 21st through Japan’s satellite TV channel Eisei Gekijo.

The KBS drama was sold to Japan in March for 100-thousand U.S. dollars per episode. An official at the production company said that no broadcasting schedules for Chinese TV channels or other countries have been fixed.

"Descendants of the Sun" was simultaneously aired on South Korea’s KBS 2 TV and China’s video platform iQiyi. It also started airing on Hong Kong’s Viu TV from April sixth. The last episode of the popular drama was aired on April 14th in South Korea.
