S. Korea Eyes Top 10 Finish at Brazil Olympics

South Korea has announced its goal to finish in the top ten at the upcoming Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

The Korean Sport Olympic Committee(KSOC) made the announcement on Wednesday during a Media Day event at the Taereung National Training Center in northeastern Seoul.

The event, which marked the 100-day countdown to the Summer Games, was attended by the cochairmen of the committee, Kim Jung-haeng and Kang Young-joong, as well as Chung Mong-gyu, the head of South Korea’s delegation to Brazil. Athletes and coaches were also present.

During a news conference, the cochairmen and Chung said they will try to bring home at least ten gold medals and finish within the top ten.

The 2016 Rio Olympic Games will run from August fifth to August 21st.
