The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism says it will hold an array of Korean cultural events in Tehran for a week starting from Monday.
Marking President Park Geun-hye’s current state visit to Iran, a variety of Korean cultural and art events, such as exhibitions, music concerts and literary activities, will be held in the Iranian capital for Korea Culture Week.
Demonstrations of the two countries’ traditional martial arts—taekwondo of Korea and zurkhaneh of Iran—will be performed at the concert hall of Milad Tower on Monday. A joint concert by Korea’s national center of traditional music and Iran’s national orchestra will also be staged.
During the period, South Korea and Iran will sign a memorandum of understanding on boosting exchanges and cooperation in the cultural technology and creative industries.
The ministry also announced a plan to establish a Korean culture center in Iran next year.
