Int'l Particle Accelerator Conference Set to Open in Busan


Global experts on particle accelerator technology have gathered in the South Korean port city of Busan for an international conference.
 
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said that about 100 companies and 13-hundred accelerator experts from 36 countries will attend the 7th International Particle Accelerator Conference (IPAC) from Monday to Friday.
 
The participants from across the globe will share their ideas and exchange information on the accelerator science and technology.
 
A particle accelerator is a large machine that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to nearly light speed and contains them in well-defined beams. It is used for diverse areas including the studies of bioscience, medicine and material engineering.
