Seoul City to Promote Understanding of Central Asian Culture

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will open a facility that features exhibitions and hands-on educational programs to promote a better understanding of the culture of Central Asian nations.

The city government said the center will open on Tuesday afternoon at a youth center in Seoul

Exhibitions at the center will feature traditional garments, craftwork, books, musical instruments and replicas of historical relics from Central Asian countries, such as Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Some exhibitions will zoom in on serious environmental issues in the countries, including water shortages and desertification with an aim to encourage South Korean youths to help preserve the environment.

The facility will be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. during weekends until February next year. Admission is free.
