Gov't to Limit Fingerprinting of Foreigners

Written: 2003-06-03 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

An official of the Ministry of Justice said Tuesday the government will soon take measures limiting the fingerprinting of foreigners to those who are to be deported, who are under investigation, or are considered a threat to national security or interests.

The official said the ministry would submit such a revision to the Immigration Law to the regular National Assembly session this fall, adding his hope that the revision would "put an end to human rights violations of foreigners, help enhance the country's image and attract foreign investment."
