Rival Parties Stress Communication, Harmony on Buddha's Birthday

Rival parties have vowed to engage in politics of communication and harmony in celebration of Buddha's Birthday.

Ruling Saenuri Party Spokesman Min Kyung-wook issued a commentary on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of a National Assembly that represents the citizens and communicates and comes together only for the people.

Spokesman Lee Jae-kyung of the Minjoo Party of Korea noted Buddha's teachings, stressing that many Koreans are distraught in a reality where conflicts are inescapable and the value of human lives is ignored.

The People's Party Spokesman Son Kum-ju also noted Buddha's teaching of treating all people equally and as precious beings, adding the party will continue politics in a self-reflecting and insightful manner.
