South Korea and France have designated the period between June first and the seventh as a special week of the 2015-2016 Korea-France Year.
Seoul's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Foreign Ministry announced the designation following a joint meeting held last week in Paris with the French government.
During the special week of the Korea Year in France, a diverse range of South Korean exhibitions, performances and cultural seminars will be held in French cities, including Paris.
To mark the 130th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, the 2015-2016 Korea-France Year began in September last year with the Eiffel Tower illuminated in the colors of South Korean flag and a performance of Jongmyo Jeryeak at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris.
Among key events during the week is "KCON 2016 France" on June second, which will feature a K-Pop concert and theme-based booths through which visitors can experience all things related to the Korean-culture boom known as Hallyu and taste Korean food, among other opportunities.
