Military Officers Discuss Preparations for Railway Reconnection

The Ministry of National Defense said officers from the South and North Korean militaries met at the truce village of Panmunjeom Wednesday to discuss preparations for construction work to relink a cross-border railway and road through the Demilitarized Zone, which have been severed since the end of the Korean War.

During the meeting, the South also raised the issue of recent and repeated violations of the inter-Korean maritime border in the Yellow Sea by North Korean fishing vessels.
