Stamps to be Issued to Mark 130 Years of S. Korea-France Diplomatic Ties

Postage stamps will be issued to mark the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France.

The Korea Post said Thursday that it will issue 700-thousand commemorative stamps in two designs featuring the medieval relics of the two countries— Korea’s celadon incense burner and France’s Reliquary of Pépin.

The postal agency explained that the stamps were designed to symbolize longstanding ties between the two nations.

The two countries have been maintaining friendly relations in various fields from politics to the economy and to culture and the arts since signing a bilateral diplomatic and trade treaty in 1886.
