Hall of Famer Park Fails to Make Cut at LPGA Event

Golfer Park In-bee failed to make the cut at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship under way in the U.S. state of Washington.

In the second round of the tournament at the Sahalee Country Club near Seattle on Friday, the 27-year-old lost eight shots with one double bogey, seven bogeys and a single birdie.

The world No. 2 qualified for induction into the LPGA Hall of Fame on Thursday after completing her first round of the season's second major tournament.

Missing the cut of seven-over-par 149 and failing to advance to the third round, Park, the three-time defending champion of the event, failed to win her fourth title.

It's the first time in 39 years for the defending champion to miss the cut at this championship since American Betty Burfeindt in 1977.

South Korea's Lee Mi-rim, who has two LPGA wins under her belt, is currently tied for first with Canadian Brooke Henderson at two-under-par 140.
