S. Korean Archers Grab Top 3 Spots at World Cup Preliminary Round

South Korean archers grabbed the top three spots in the preliminary round of the men's individual recurve event at the third stage of the 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup. The World Cup serves as the final world qualifier for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
 
The Korea Archery Association said Tuesday that Ku Bon-chan ranked first in the preliminary round held at Antalya, Turkey on Monday. Ku, who won the bronze medal at the second stage of the 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup last month, scored 686 points out of a perfect score of 720.
 
Kim Woo-jin ranked second in the preliminary round with 683 points followed by Lee Seung-yun who scored 681 points.
 
All three archers have earned a berth into the round of 32 and they will not be facing each other until the semifinals.
 
In the preliminary round of the team events, South Korea also ranked first with two-thousand-50 points.
 
On the second day of the third stage on Tuesday, a preliminary round of the women's individual recurve competitions and the round of 16 to semifinals of the mixed team events will take place.
