Journalists from eight Chinese media companies will visit South Korea next week to cover the Korean culture boom Hallyu and the creative economy drive.
The Chinese reporters will begin their weeklong schedule by first visiting cultural landmarks in Seoul, such as the Creative Economy Leader Venture Complex, Dongdaemun Design Plaza and the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, on June 19th and the 20th.
For three days from June 21st, they will cover the filming locations of the mega-hit KBS drama “The Descendants of the Sun” including closed mines in Taebaek and Jeongseon in Gangwon Province.
The Chinese media delegation will also tour facilities for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and Yangyang International Airport in Gangwon Province. They will then move on to tourist destinations in other provinces, including the Naganeupseong fortress in South Jeolla Province.
The media staff will feature Hallyu, also referred to as the Korean Wave, culture and the creative economy in special reports next month.
The media companies include the People’s Daily newspaper, the Xinhuanet news portal, the Global Times and Phoenix TV.
