S. Korean Archers Win Group Events at World Cup

South Korean archers have grabbed gold medals in both the men’s and women’s group recurve events at the third stage of the 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey.
 
The female trio of Choi Mi-sun, Chang Hye-jin and Ki Bo-bae defeated Russia 6-2 at the final of the event at the World Cup held on Sunday.
 
After setting a world record in the preliminaries, the South Korean female archers beat Kazakhstan 6-0 in the round of 16, the U.S. 6-2 in the quarterfinals and Italy 6-0 in the semifinals.
 
Having proved its unrivaled status in the World Cup, the South Korean female team is setting its sights on winning a gold medal in Rio de Janeiro in August for the eighth consecutive Olympic Games.
 
The male trio of Kim Woo-jin, Lee Seung-yun and Ku Bon-chan also won the group final against Mexico 6-0.
