American Pianist Bernstein to Visit S. Korea with 70 Korean War Veterans

World-famous American pianist Seymour Bernstein will visit South Korea this week as a Korean War veteran.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said on Monday that about 70 Korean War veterans and their families, including 89-year-old Bernstein, will visit the country from Thursday to next Tuesday to tour various locations of the once war-torn country.

Bernstein gave about 100 musical performances at the frontline units during the war.

During the six-day stay, the guests will attend a ceremony marking the 66th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25th and visit the border village of Panmunjeon.

They will also visit tourist attractions in the Itaewon and Insadong areas in Seoul.
