S. Korea Vies for More than 10 Gold Medals at Rio Olympics

Anchor: South Korea is vying for its fourth consecutive top ten finish in the medal standings at the Rio Summer Olympics. With only 30 days to go, the national team athletes are intensifying their training to make sure they add medals in traditionally strong areas such as archery, judo, shooting and taekwondo as well as other events.

Report: The 30-day countdown to this year's Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has begun and Team Korea is gearing up to make sure it brings nothing but its A game to the event.
 
Among 306 gold medals on offer, the South Korean national team is vying for more than ten. Archer Ki Bo-bae and badminton player Lee Yong-dae are some of the hopefuls.

"I'm ready to pour everything I have with the thought that this will be my last Olympics."

"I will do my best to get ready during the last 30 days so that I will be able to win a gold medal in the men's doubles."
 
South Korea's first gold medal is expected on the second day of the games in shooting. Jin Jong-oh will try to win his third consecutive Olympic gold, something no other Korean has accomplished.
 
With medals expected in traditionally strong events such as archery and judo, South Korea hopes it will be able to achieve its fourth consecutive top-ten finish in the medal standings.
 
Fencer Kim Ji-yeon, taekwondo fighter Lee Dae-hoon and the women's golf team are also likely to add to the medal count.

Around 15-thousand athletes from 206 countries will participate in the largest Olympics ever.
 
The sports festival will be held for 17 days at Maracana Stadium and elsewhere under the slogan "A New World."
 
The South Korean national team will head to Rio on July 28th.
