Park In-bee Decides to Compete in Rio Olympics

South Korean golfer Park In-bee has decided to compete in next month's Rio Olympics despite recovering from a left thumb injury.

Park’s agency, Galaxia SM, said on Monday that she has decided to participate in the Olympics, as long as she is qualified to represent the country according to a world ranking to be announced this week.

Park, ranked No. 3 in the world, is the highest-ranked South Korean so far and is a shoo-in for the Summer Games.

The 27-year-old golfer said through the agency that competing in the Olympics is her long-time dream and goal, adding that her injured thumb has healed considerably.

Last month, Park said she might concede her Olympic spot to another player if she didn't feel 100 percent.
