S. Korea's Olympic Team Launched, Aims for Top-10 Finish

South Korean athletes competing in the upcoming Rio de Janeiro Olympics have held a launching ceremony, vowing to win at least ten gold medals and finish among the top ten of the medal standings.

At the ceremony held at Seoul's Olympic Park Tuesday, Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn said the Rio Summer Games, the first Olympics to be held in South America, would be a great opportunity to promote South Korea to the other side of the world.

The 331-member South Korean squad including 204 athletes and 94 officials will compete in 24 events including archery, taekwondo, judo, shooting, golf and fencing.

More than ten-thousand athletes from about 200 countries will compete in the Summer Olympics from August fifth to the 21st in Brazil.
