S. Korean Military Band to Perform at Canada's Military Band Festival

Seoul's defense ministry said Wednesday that the South Korean Army’s traditional band will participate in Canada’s annual military music festival that kicks off later in the day.

It is the first time a South Korean military team will perform during the Okanagan Military Tattoo to be held in the British Columbia city of Vernon between July 20-26.

This year’s festival is held under the theme, “West Meets East,” and the South Korean Army’s traditional band will perform four times during the festival, featuring various Korean traditional musical instruments, including nabal, taepyeongso, janggo, kkoenggwari and buk.

Apart from the South Korean military team, 14 Canadian military bands will perform during the festival.
