Kim Sam-hoon named Ambassador to UN

Seoul has appointed Kim Sam-hoon, research commissioner at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), as its ambassador to the United Nations, and designated Lee Tae-sik, former deputy foreign minister, ambassador to the United Kingdom.

In a personnel reshuffle, the ministry named 31 heads of diplomatic missions abroad, including 29 ambassadors and two consulate-generals, to countries such as Germany, Australia, Brazil, Austria, Spain and Mexico.
