Golf Coach Pak Se-ri Aims Podium Sweep in Rio Olympics

South Korean golfer Pak Se-ri, the coach of the women’s national golf team at the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics, says she hopes South Korean golfers will sweep the podium at the Games.

Pak expressed the hope on Wednesday during a news conference in downtown Seoul.

She said that she wishes South Korean players will win the gold, silver and bronze medals, but is trying not to put much pressure on the players.

Pak said that she cannot name a specific player as a potential medal winner, adding that all the players are in good condition.

She said that in order to sweep the podium, South Koreans will likely have to beat world No. 1 Lydia Ko, a Korean-born New Zealand golfer.
