Nation to See Scorching Heat in August

The scorching heat is forecast to sweep across the nation next month following the rainy season.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said Sunday that the nation will see cloudy days this week due to the North Pacific high atmospheric pressure.

The weather agency forecast the average morning lows until Wednesday to be around 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, while the average afternoon highs would rise from 29 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The KMA said that the sultry weather will continue next month.

Temperatures during the period are forecast to be similar to or higher than the previous years’ average 25-point-one degrees Celsius, while the precipitation will be around or higher than previous years’ average of 162-point-eight millimeters.

The nation is expected to have warmer days and more rainfall into September.

A KMA official said that the hot weather will continue into mid-September.
