'Operation Chromite' to be Released in US, Canada

The Korean War movie “Operation Chromite” will be released in Los Angeles in the United States on Friday and other major cities across the U.S. and Canada next Friday.

CJ Entertainment America said on Wednesday that the movie will be released at a record 130 theaters across North America.

The number of theaters is compared to the 2014 hit film “Ode to My Father,” which was released at 53 theaters in the region.

“Roaring Currents,” which earned two-point-six million U.S. dollars to set a box office record among South Korean films released in North America, was shown at 45 theaters.

“Operation Chromite” is about the famed Incheon landing operation during the Korean War, starring Hollywood actor Liam Neeson as General Douglas MacArthur, the U.N. commander-in-chief who led the campaign to drive out the invading North Korea forces out of South Korea.
