'Train to Busan' Wins Top Prize at Fantasia Film Festival

South Korea’s zombie blockbuster “Train to Busan” has won the top prize at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival held in Montreal, Canada.

Film distributor New announced Thursday that the movie received the grand prize for best feature at the festival, which wrapped up on Wednesday.

Fantasia codirector Mitch Davis said that the South Korean flick created quite a buzz in the film festival.

South Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung won the best actress award for her role in “The Bacchus Lady” directed by Lee Jae-yong. This marks the first time in 45 years a South Korean actress has picked up the honor at the Canadian film festival since 1971.

Fantasia is known as the most outstanding and largest genre film festival in North America, which focuses on introducing European and Asian films with new perspectives.
