N. Korea Under Record Hot 38.3 °C Heatwave

With the sultry heat at its peak in South Korea, North Korea is suffering even higher temperatures.
 
The North's Korean Central Television said Friday that afternoon highs hovered over 34 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country to record the hottest temperature yet this summer.
 
The report said that afternoon highs reached 34 degrees in capital Pyongyang on Friday, about four degrees higher than past years.
 
The broadcaster said that in some areas, the temperatures reached all-time-high levels since weather forecast began in the country and cited 38-point-three degrees in Hyesan.
 
Issuing a high temperature advisory for Saturday, the news outlet forecast afternoon highs to be similar nationwide on Saturday with temperatures topping 35 degrees.
