South Korean archer Chang Hye-jin has become the country’s first double gold medalist at the Rio Olympics, as she clinched an individual title on Thursday.

In the women’s individual final at Sambodromo, the 29-year-old defeated Germany’s Lisa Unruh by a set score of 6-2, winning all of the two titles available to women archers at the Summer Games. Chang, along with Ki Bo-bae and Choi Mi-sun, won the team competition final for South Korea last Sunday.

Chang is the seventh South Korean female archer to win both individual and team titles at an Olympics. 

She advanced to the final after beating World no.2 Ki, who was seeking to defend her individual title, by a set score of 7-3.

Ki clinched bronze with a 6-4 victory over Mexico’s Alejandra Valencia in the third-place playoff.

Top seed Choi fell to Valencia in the quarterfinals, losing 6-0.

Meanwhile, Team Korea will aim to sweep the four archery titles on Friday, when the men’s individual event will be held.
