In the final round on Friday, Ku defeated Jean-Charles Valladont of France 7-3.

With the latest win, the South Korean archery team, for the first time ever, has won gold in all four of the men's and women's team and individual events at the Olympics.

An unexpected silver was also captured in shooting by Team Korea. Kim Jong-hyun, who won a silver medal at the 2012 London Games, clinched silver again in the men's 50-meter rifle prone with a score of 208-point-two points.

Winning silver in back-to-back Olympics, Kim will vie for a gold medal on Sunday in his main event—the 50-meter rifle three positions.

In badminton, Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon-seong, the world's No. 1 duo in men's doubles, are well on their way to the quarterfinals, scoring their second win against Taiwan.

In table tennis, South Korea's men and women won the team events against Brazil and Romania and advanced to the quarterfinals.

In women's handball, Team Korea was knocked out of the Games after failing to score its first win against France.

In women's judo, Kim Min-jeong in the over 78-kilogram class failed to win a medal after losing to her Chinese rival in the bronze medal match.

In men's golf, An Byeong-hun shot one-over 72 on Friday. He's at two-under 140 after two days and tied at 18th with three others.

Meanwhile, North Korean weightlifter Rim Jong-sim won the first gold medal for her country in Rio in the 75-kilogram division.

South Korea currently stands in fifth place in the medal tally with six gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
