Over 2,000 from 87 Countries Apply for Cheongju World Martial Arts Mastership

More than two-thousand people from 87 countries have applied to compete in the World Martial Arts Masterships, which are set to open on September second in Cheongju City.

The event's organizing committee said on Tuesday that one-thousand-351 martial artists, 261 coaches and 461 officials submitted their applications for the competition.

The number of applicants from Uzbekistan was the largest at 84, excluding South Korea’s 373.

The event, jointly organized by the North Chungcheong Provincial Government and Cheongju City, will be held through September eighth for a six-day run.
