South Korea’s zombie thriller “Train to Busan” has become the country’s 15th film to attract more than eleven-million viewers.
According to the Korean Film Council(KOFIC) on Thursday, the film directed by Yeon Sang-ho has achieved eleven-million-seven-thousand-65 ticket sales as of Wednesday, the 29th day since its release.
Hollywood sci-fi series "Star Trek Beyond" jumped to number three at the domestic box office, garnering 29-thousand-363 ticket sales on its first day of release on Wednesday.
Yeon’s animated work “Seoul Station”, which is a prequel to “Train to Busan,” also opened on Wednesday and amassed 29-thousand-363 viewers, taking the No. 7 slot in daily ticket sales, one spot behind the zombie thriller.
Disaster film “Tunnel” has remained atop the Box Office, luring 230-thousand-78 viewers on Wednesday. Released on August 10th, the movie has posted three-million-763-thousand-516 cumulative viewers.
Period Drama “The Last Princess” came in second, attracting four-million-221-thousand-561 viewers in 14 days since its release.
