Attention Shifts from Rio de Janeiro to Pyeongchang

As the Rio de Janeiro Olympics came to an end on Sunday, sports fans around the world are now shifting their focus to Pyeongchang, where the Olympic torch will be taken to next for the Winter Games.

South Korea’s eastern mountainous town will host the Winter Olympics for 17 days beginning February ninth 2018, where around 50-thousand athletes and officials from around 100 countries are expected to participate.

According to the organizers of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the construction of the 12 Olympic venues and related facilities are being carried out smoothly.

All the sporting venues in the city are clustered within a 30-minute walking distance from one another, which will make it one of the most compact Winter Olympics ever staged.
