South Korea has advanced to the international championship at the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series.
South Korea defeated Mexico 7-0 in a consolation match held in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Friday.
South Korean players overwhelmed Mexico both in offense and defense. Park Sang-heon helped South Korea easily put away Mexico through his pitching in three shutout innings. He struck out nine, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Cho Won-tae also didn't allow a single hit from Mexico while pitching three innings.
Three home runs in the first and second innings supplied early offense for South Korea. Kwon Se-um clubbed two home runs in the first and second innings while Kim Jae-kyung hit a three-run homer during the second inning.
South Korea will face off with Panama in the final of the international group on Sunday.
If it wins over the Latin American country, South Korea will face the U.S. in the final of the World Series the next day.
